Hey, I just noticed your saddle bags. What brand and size are they? They look great and they fit the bike perfectly.

Thanks..

They came with the bike and are el cheapo noname bags. Note that there are no bag guides/wheel guards and that the front of the bag is attached to the rear fender (look below the pillon seat at the strap) to help keep them in place.

The previous owner had installed them backwards (flap that snaps facing front) so I did a little awl work while reversing them.

This discussion came about at a great time! I just installed my Spitfire on Saturday, and I'm in the process of finding that "right" angle. I do have it adjusted to match the angle of the forks (seems to work well), but still farting around with the height.

I'm ordering a Spitfire from Jack's tomorrow if I can't find one locally (fat chance out here in the desert!).

They look like they fit perfectly. I'm surprised you don't have support brackets for them. Aren't you afraid they might mix with your wheel?

What size are they. They look great...a perfect fit. Are they nylon?

Nope, there's enough bike in the way to prevent that.

How long have you been riding with no windscreen (or at higher speeds)? I remember I was taken a-back by the wind pressure when I first started riding after removing my windshield. I thought I was gonna get ripped from the bike at freeway speeds!

But now to be honest after 4+ months of having the windshield off the bike for summer I dont even notice the wind anymore honestly (meaning it doesn't bother me at all). Strange as it may seem even at 80-85 mph its no big deal, at least for me, now that I'm accustomed to it. I commute daily 135 miles round trip on an 1100 V-Star and my average cruising speed is 80 mph with no windscreen. Now that I'm accustomed to it - no big deal at all and I like the bike without the windshield. I will put in back on in winter though, cuz those speeds in 30's temps??? No way! lol
