lol...apparently, I thought that due to the few comments insinuating how he will ultimately kill himself from installing a cupholder - erm, beer holder on his trusty steed
oughta throw out there the shotglass tail light...the ring conveniently unscrews for use at rallys, poker runs, etc. After your libations just screw back on & you are free to legally ride to the next...ummm

actually - thats a safety feature ...
if you're too drunk to screw = you're too drunk to ride
but in reality - it's a safety feature ...
if the tail light bulb burns out - you fill the shot glass with high proof and set it alight ... the flame then acts as an really old fashioned tail light _________________

you know those old old 'cannonball' type construction safety hazard lights ? the kind you fill with kerosene and set ablaze ... back before battery powered flashers ?
besides - alcohol burns with a blue flame ...
and you do know about those popular blue dot brake light mods - right ? _________________

a blue flame would be frowned upon be the authorities...
I had blue dots in my camaro, made the lights purple...ahh the 80's, cragars, hairbands, parachute pants

Thanks for the flashback, Peach!
Man, I haven't seen one of those shotglass lights since I was--
well, since I was younger
Where on earth did you find that dinosaur?
And what about those old "cigarette lighter" handlbar inserts? Remember those?
They went the way of the dodo, I'm afraid. Now that most people are using their car lighter for cell phones and I-pods, they've kind of standardized to 'car size.' Still, I'll always remember being a kid and being "allowed" to push the lighter into the end of the bars to warm it up

scroll down...really an entertaining ad:
linky..nws, language & stuff
I've seen ads recently for those bar end lighters...might make a good weapon against angry dogs, or squirrels as the case may be
I actually like that shot light, even for the novelty of it. Believe me, I've learned my lesson on drinking & riding, enough to never try it again! My Huffy never looked the same...bent pedals, twisted bars, gravel embedded in my hands, scraped knees, oh the carnage! I couldn't even guess how fast I was going...I know I only made it about 10 ft, I believe that includes the landing.

Just the other day at Belk's I was noticing you can again by brand new jeans that have been worked over with cans of motor oil and buckshot.
Whod'a though?! I've got drawers worth hundreds of dollars!

If you think this thread is at all funny, you should rent the movie Idiocracy. The first 5 minutes are pretty much a summary of Duke's "they're surviving to breed" post.

YES!!! And more like wimps too. There is a vast lack of "common sence " and the guts to stand up for what you believe in. I don't believe in riding the waves,I believe in making the waves. I don't mind helping someone that needs help,but pretty soon you better pull up your boot straps and help yourself. I suppose I am a non-conformast to a certain extent. I don't need somebody telling me what to wear,what to eat ,how to dress etc.I am not perfect ,nor am I always right,but atleast I stand up for what I believe is right. I will also be the first one to admit it when I am wrong.There are way too many followers now days and not near enough adventurers. People are to dang dependent on the establishment that I detest. Folks need to grow some kahunnas , get off their fat,lazy butts, learn how to take care of business in a manley intellegent way. O we are in a depression and we can't figure out what is causing it. Well you see when the price of gas goes up ,so does the cost of everthing else. DUH There are enough capped oil wells in the United States to supply oil for 200 yrs. That ain't Jerry talking its a fact. The truth is certain people are becoming extremely rich by pulling the wool over the American peoples eyes. Why did unleaded gas cost more than leaded gas?? The petro companies had to put lead in the gas,not take it out. This whole mess is a giant hoax that the American public is swallowing hook,line and sinker. The petro companies are doing what no other country has ever been able to do. They are bringing the United States to it knees. Are people getting more stupid?? Stop shrugging your shoulders and saying O well ,let somebody else handle it. Stop passing the buck and grab the bull by its horns,twist its neck and make it go to the ground. Thats all I got to say right now...

Ok I'm gonna preface the next statment by saying that I am employed as an assistant director of an all freshman guy dorm at Abilene Christian University. This is a nice way to say that I live with 280 people going through often some of the greatest moments of stupidity in life. Myself and the Director have decided that the country should adopt a new punishment system for people that do stupid things. This is entirely related to guys because thats who we live with.
We've decided that the new form of punishment is chemical castration. This can take place at many different levels but the many purpose is to prevent stupidity from reproducing.
1) For minor stupid acts, violators should be placed on estrogen tablets. This shall last for as long as the jury decides. They will have an opportunity to review before a board at the end of this time to see if they are eligible to discontinue.
2) For moderately stupid acts, violators will be permanently castrated. The manner of castration will depend on the stupidity of the act.
3) For severely stupid acts, there really is only one choice. Violators will be hung in public...however not hung by the neck, this is castration. When the hanging is finished (I.e. castration occurs), the local doctor has the option to care for the man or not...I guess that'll depend on the stupidity of the act.
I feel that since the safety nazis want to help everyone live, we should take care of deciding who gets to reproduce. They've tried limiting children in china...its failed. If we completely take away the possibility, then it wont be an issue. _________________ "If money can fix it, its not that big a problem" |

nice...I'd like to watch her walk after she takes a ride
so...this is all over a "cup holder", but the only thing that makes it different than these, is the fact that the good 'ole boys mentioned "beer can". Not only have HD riders & sport bike riders been targeted here recently, but now the poor, thrifty home-builders? < ----- joke people, ok? _________________

joe diffie recorded it ... no one said he didn't
my point is that it doesn't mean he's the ONLY one who ever did so
according to many many lyrics sites on the web john anderson ALSO recorded it
and that happened to be the version I first snagged
just because joe did ... that doesn't mean john didn't
sheesh ... how hard is that concept ???
=====
quick ...
Q) who recorded "(I'm dreaming of a) WHITE CHRISTMAS"...
a = bing crosby
b = billy gilman
c = leanne rhymes
d = diana ross
e = ALL OF THE ABOVE
just because one specific one did record it - doesn't automatically mean the others DIDN'T too
and actually the song is by irving berlin - tho I dunno if he ever recorded it himself
SO ... no one said joe diffie didn't record 'john deere green' ... it's not an issue of contention
but some are saying john anderson didn't ... in spite of the links saying otherwise

Peach:
he's not being picked on for having a cup holder. Shoot-- Mike's got a cup holder. And I'm seldom seen in the morning, after lunch, or any time of the evening without a cup or two of coffee jammed into my pocket or my instrument cluster.
What we're making fun of in this case is where he's putting it:
the end of his suicide shifter . If the vibration doesn't fling it out into the woods, the act of shifting should pretty well saturate him _________________
